Murals are visible behind the archways - A Rivera fan could easily spend all day in this amazing building.

Secretaria de Educacion Publica (Secretariat of Education) - This is only one of many beautiful colonial buildings in the Centro Historical.  It was originally a convent.  Diego Rivera was commissioned to create murals on the outer walls of the three tiered courtyard. Over 8 years in the 1920's he completed 120 huge murals that conveyed "a new sense of Mexico's past and future.  (Scroll up)
